Holly Meese
Parks and Open Spaces Planner
Holly has over five years of experience working in the parks and recreation sector in New Zealand and abroad. Holly has a BA (Hons) in Geography from the University of Auckland. She specialises in parks and open space planning, policy and research.
Holly is passionate about creating positive outcomes for communities through the provision of high quality open spaces. Throughout her professional career, Holly has led innovative programs of work focused on mitigating the effects of climate change, connecting people with nature and creating thriving open spaces that enhance community and environmental wellbeing.
Holly is an active contributor to the parks and recreation sector in New Zealand and abroad. She has presented at numerous conferences and has published work in the The Australasian Parks & Leisure Journal. Holly serves on several committees of World Urban Parks. She is the chair of the Healthy Parks Healthy Cities Committee and a member of the Advocacy Committee.
Holly shares a love for nature and all things outdoors which is what motivated her to pursue a career in the parks and recreation sector. When she is not working, you will find Holly out on her favourite hiking trails or hanging out with her family and pets
